Lois Estelle Doetkott, age 69, of Burtrum, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital in Long Prairie.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 15 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Upsala with Rev. Trisha Jorgenson presiding.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.
Lois Doetkott was born May 4, 1938 in Westminster, Vermont to Joseph and Alice (Keefe) Emerson. Lois moved from New Hampshire to Minnesota in September, 1970. On April 7, 1971 she married Harleth "Mike" Doetkott in Long Prairie Minnesota. Lois worked at Jennie-O Foods in Melrose for 13 years and retired to Arizona in 2000 and eventually moved back to Minnesota in 2005.Lois loved visiting with family and friends. She especially loved working in her huge flower and vegetable gardens. Lois also spent many years raising Doberman Pinschers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Harleth "Mike" Doetkott of Burtrum; children, Raymond (Jennifer) Blake of Newburg, Oregon, Ralph (Susan) Blake of Maple Grove, Roy (Tammy) Blake of Swanzey, New Hampshire, Robin (Larry) Johnson of Burtrum, and Rona Griffin of Champlin; 26 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn, Blanche, and Clara.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice (Keefe) Emerson; brother, George Sr.; sisters, Madeline, Eleanor, and Barbara.
