Lois C. Beilke, age 76 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, April 26, 2010 at her home in Sauk Centre.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter officiating. Inurnment will be in Silver Creek Cemetery in West Union.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at church.

Lois Carolyn Schmidt was born January 21, 1934 in West Union Township, Todd County, Minnesota to George and Marie (Rueckert) Schmidt. On October 5, 1963 she was united in marriage to John Beilke at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Lois was a lifelong resident of Sauk Centre and worked at Swift & Co., Red Owl Grocery Store, and for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Lois enjoyed playing cards, Farkle, gambling, fishing, growing flowers, and gardening. She loved getting out to see the spring flowers and fall colors and spending time at the lake with her family. Lois was a great cook and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Lois was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 67 Auxiliary, and was past president and member of the Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary. Lois was also a member and served on the local board for the Minnesota Retired State Employees Association (MRSEA).

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Beilke of Sauk Centre; children, Marilyn Meyer of Brooten, George (Peg) Beilke of St. Cloud, Kathi (Michael) Hoeschen of Sauk Centre, and Marlee (Michael) Kosanke of Shoreview; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents.Serving as urn bearer will be Chad Hoeschen. Honorary bearers will be Betty Prasch, Joanie Maas, Gloria Stone, Marian Reynolds, and Betty VanHavermaet.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Michael's Hospice or Silver Creek Cemetery in Lois's name.
