Lois A. Adams, age 68 of New Munich died Saturday, December 18, 2004 at her home after a short battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB and Rev. Julius Beckermann, OSB concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Anne's Christian Mothers and Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid Association will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Lois Adams was born February 1, 1936 in Ward Springs, Minnesota to Joseph and Rose (Kuhlmann) Stangler. She was united in marriage to Howard Adams on April 26, 1958 in Freeport. The couple resided in New Munich. Lois was employed at Jennie-O Foods in Melrose for 25 years and retired in 1999. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and going to the casino with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, St. Anne's Christian Mothers and Immaculate Conception Catholic Aid Association.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Adams of New Munich; children, Jeffery Adams and his wife, Kathy of Sauk Centre, Brenda Thomes and her husband, James of Brainerd, Amy Dingmann and her husband, Ronald, Jr. of Melrose and Kelly Vornbrock and her husband, Donald of Freeport; 8 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Charlene Rolfzen and her husband, Arthur of New Munich, LeRoy Stangler and his wife, Sharon of St. Cloud, Richard Stangler of Freeport, Janice Strauman of Minneapolis and Maurice Stangler and his wife, Carol of Melrose.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, May Rose Stangler.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeffery Adams, Kathy Adams, Brenda Thomes, James Thomes, Amy Dingmann, Ronald Dingmann, Jr., Kelly Vornbrock and Donald Vornbrock. Cross bearer will be Nicholas Adams and scripture bearer will be Marissa Thomes. Honorary bearers will be Mary Ann Pflipsen, Delores Gysberg, Sandy Kleinfehn, Susie Vogel, Florence Tschida, Marcy Blenker, Marcy Barta, Sister Anne Terese, Rita Suck and Delores "Dolly" Dierkhissing.
