Lloyd Butkowski

Lloyd W. Butkowski, age 60, died Monday, July 8, 2019 at his home in rural Millwood Township, St. Rosa, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 15, at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa with Rev. Daniel Walz officiating. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday July 14, and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Monday July 15 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. Parish prayers will be held at 5 PM Sunday evening at the church.

Lloyd William Butkowski was born November 28, 1958 in Melrose, Minnesota to Arnold and Lorraine (Bruns) Butkowski. He graduated from Melrose High School and continued his education at Alexandria Technical College with an emphasis in agricultural management.  Lloyd worked on the home farm his entire life; it was a lifestyle he cherished. He was a dairy farmer initially and more recently had been raising beef cattle and crop farming.  His brother, nieces and nephews fondly remember Lloyd sharing his observations of nature with them on long walks around the farm with his dog trailing behind.  He raised fancy breeds of chickens, and loved to fish with his dad and brother. Birds were another interest that he shared with family members.  A quiet, kind man of deep faith, he was a life-long member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Survivors include his brother, Ralph (Janet) Butkowski of Roseville; nieces and nephews, Jill (Al) Heinn, Bruce (Leticia) Blommel, Jason (Misty) Blommel, Aaron (Richelle) Blommel, Bobbi Jo (Doug) Freie, Justin (Megan) Hynnek, Kimberly (Daniel) Stach, and Ann (Luke) Gliddon.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Pat Hynnek and Mary Jo Blommel.
