Linda Kay Arnzen, age 54 of Grey Eagle, died from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident on Friday, July 10, 2009 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Mark Willenbring officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. by the Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lions, Monsignor Lorsung Council #14616 Knights of Columbus, and the Grey Eagle Fire Department on Monday evening.
Linda Kay Arnzen was born December 28, 1954 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Erma (Graves) Arnzen. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph's Parish Council, Grey Eagle City Council, Healthy Community Partnership, Community Builders President, Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lions Club, co-chair of the Memorial Day and GEM FEST parades, co-chair of the parish fundraiser auction, chaired Financial Review Committee of the Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lions Club, funeral lunch committee, and Todd County Emergency Services Management Task Force. Linda was also an usher at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a volunteer for the Firemen's Benefit, and made multiple donations to the church and community, especially activities involving children and flowers. Linda worked at Vacation Bible School, Red Cross Blood Drive, delivered St. Cloud Times newspaper, and co-owner of Arnzen's Trucking Company with her brother, Joe, and owner of This N' That Treasures in Grey Eagle.Linda and Joe had great displays in their yard for each holiday and season for the community's enjoyment. They had a special interest in Halloween as children would flock their home and yard which was fully decorated for the occasion.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph "Joe" Arnzen, Jr. of Grey Eagle; aunts and uncles, Gerald Arnzen of St. Rosa, Emily Schneider of Melrose, Geraldine Sinderman of Sobieski, Larry Graves of Little Canada; many cousins; and beloved cocker spaniels, Casper and Copper.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Arnzen on April 14, 1992 and Erma on November 20, 1985; grandparents, Andrew and Theresa Graves and Henry and Anna Arnzen; aunts and uncles, Jerome, Raymond, and Virgil Arnzen, Rita Boeckermann, Marion Milkey, Laverne and Melvin Graves.
Serving as casket bearers will be Kevin Graves, Paul Graves, Jeremy Graves, Sam Schneider, Bob Arnzen, and John Arnzen. Serving as cross bearer will be Bernice Tschida and scripture bearer will be Janet Feldewerd. Mass Servers will be Shawn and Steven Wielenberg. Lector will be Marilyn Muellner. Honorary bearers will be the Grey Eagle/Burtrum Lions Club, Grey Eagle Fire Department, and Grey Eagle City Council.
