Leona G. Pfieffer, age 95 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, February 29 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre for. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Leona Pfieffer was born August 27, 1912 in Raymond Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Ignatius and Helena (Kiffmeyer) Mayer. On October 8, 1949 she married Richard Pfieffer at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She was employed by Swift and Company for 15 years and then worked as a seamstress for Fingerhut for 11 ½ years.She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Little Sauk American Legion Post Auxiliary, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary.
Survivors include sisters and brothers, Irene Essler and Francis Mayer of Sauk Centre, Marie Seitz of Albany, Rose Spaeth of Circle Pines, and Margaret Littlefield of West Linn, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Pfieffer on February 14, 1993; son, David Mayer on April 8, 1987; sisters, Hilda Killeen and Cecelia Rohan; and brother, Clarence Mayer.
Serving as casket bearers will be Kenneth Mayer, Thomas Killeen, Paul Seitz, Don Mayer, and Mike Hanson. Cross bearer will be Carmen Kargen and scripture bearer will be Denise Jennissen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Catholic Church.
