Leon A. Kollman, age 50, of Alexandria, died on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery in Padua.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Leon Kollman was born on January 9, 1954 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Math and Marcella (Schmitz) Kollman. Since 1972 he had resided at a Prairie Community Services group home in Alexandria and he had worked at the Alexandria Opportunity Center for many years. He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, music and camping. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria.
Survivors include his mother, Marcella Kollman of Sauk Centre; sisters and brothers, Mary (Bob) Wiener of Miltona, Laura (Bill) Pohl of Duluth, Vera Thorpe of Queenstown, Maryland, Jerry (Alyce) Kollman of Sauk Centre, Jim (Rosie) Kollman of Brooten, Doris (Ken) Fennell of Hutchinson, Doreen (Tom) Koralesky of Litchfield, Kathy (Don) Leonard of Sauk Centre, Ramona (Kevin) Hawkinson of Maple Plain, Darrel (Martha) Kollman of Glenwood; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kollman of Sauk Centre; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Math Kollman; brothers and sisters, Ron and Eugene Kollman and Donald and Diane, in infancy.
Serving as casket bearers will be Todd Leonard, Barron Koralesky, Andrew and Ryan Kollman, Corey Hawkinson and Jeremy Fennell with Judy Leach serving as cross bearer. Honorary bearers will be Leon's friends from Prairie Community Services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Community Services in Alexandria.
