Lena V. Polipnick, age 88 of St. Cloud, died peacefully at her home Saturday, April 26, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Pastor Bruce Timm will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Lena Polipnick was born July 12, 1919 in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Frank and Josephine (Dwelle) Kircher. She attended school in Little Sauk. In 1938 she married Russell Murch and he died in 1969. She later married Mandy Polipnick. Lena opened the Lakeview Home for the Handicapped in 1952 in Sauk Centre and operated it for 31 years. Since 1990 she had resided in St. Cloud.She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud.Lena enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, and reading.
Survivors include her children, John (Jan) Murch of Sauk Centre, Judith Ann Murch of St. Cloud, Tony (Brenda) Polipnick of Milaca; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Russell Murch in 1969 and Mandy Polipnick in 2003; step-daughter, Janet Olberding; one grandson; sisters, Estella Sumwalt, Grace Pettit, Ruth Hendrickson, and Ella Engle; brothers, Milton, Ray, Harvey, and Gordon Kircher.
Serving as casket bearers will be Richard and Gary Engle, Herman and Roger Hendrickson, Harvey Pettit, and Cheri Salzer.
