Larry Sorenson

Larry D. Sorenson, age 85 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Sterling Pointe Senior Living in Princeton, Minnesota.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 11 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Chad Schwanke officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. In honor of Larry's passion for the outdoors, please wear hunting and fishing apparel if you desire.

Larry Dallas Sorenson was born July 13, 1939 in Lanesboro, Iowa to Frederick and Dora (Garrett) Sorenson. He graduated from Lake City High School in Iowa and furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree at Wayne State University and his Master of Science degree from Mankato State University. He was united in marriage to Beverly DeBolt on December 5, 1959 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Larry spent his career in education and served as principal at Sauk Centre High School from 1972 through his retirement in 1997.

Larry passion for hunting and fishing led him to be a member of the Sauk Centre Conservation Club and Ducks Unlimited. He loved farming and gardening, especially when it came to his sweet corn and tomatoes. Larry also enjoyed playing cards, camping, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Beverly Sorenson of Sauk Centre; children, Clark Sorenson of Sauk Centre, Curt (Joyce) Sorenson of Rice, and Kim (Scot) Arndtson of Maple Grove; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Kate), Benjamin (fiancé, Kayla), Taylor (Gaby), Alyssa (Mike), Kayla (Zach), Jason, and Justin; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Kyler, and Weston; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Sorenson of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Sorenson.
