Lambert H. Nathe, age 83 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the United Veterans Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Lambert Henry Nathe was born on October 2, 1926 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Theodore and Rose (Inderrieden) Nathe. He was united in marriage to Verena Hoeschen on June 11, 1955 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, Minnesota. Lambert served in the United States Army as a diesel mechanic during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking.Lambert was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.

Lambert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Verena Nathe of Sauk Centre; son, Alan Nathe of Sauk Centre; daughter, Diane (Vince) Winter of Sauk Centre; grandsons, Christopher and Shayne Winter of Sauk Centre; sisters, Sally Zirbes of Sauk Centre, Cathy (Jerry) Weyland of Brooklyn Center, and Arlene (Pete) Schroeder of Lino Lakes; brothers, Ralph (JoAnn) Nathe of Sauk Centre and Willie (Eileen) Nathe of Zimmerman; brother-in-law, John Rugloski of Baxter; and sister-in-law Shirley Nathe of Melrose.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Sharon; grandson, Nathan Winter; sisters, Millie Zirbes, Irene Rugloski, and Margaret Johnson; brother, Hermie Nathe; and brothers-in-law, Hubert Zirbes, Al Zirbes, and Dave Johnson.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jack Rademacher, Chuck Rademacher, Mark Atkinson, Tom Nathe, Steve Nathe, Greg Nathe, and John Atkinson. Cross bearer will be Michelle Oie and scripture bearer will be Kristen Nathe. Honorary bearers will be Lambert's brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Bob and Donna Hoeschen, Bernice and Julius Atkinson, and Gothard and Irene Rademacher. Eucharistic ministers will be Mike and Vonnie Zirbes and lector will be Audrey Wiechmann. Gift bearers will be Diane Winter, Vince Winter, and Shayne Winter and mass server will be Chris Winter.
