Kenton Clear

Kenton M. Clear, age 74 of Staples and formerly of Grey Eagle died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Lakewood Health System in Staples.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 20 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ken Wood officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle.

Kenton Clear was born November 19, 1929 near Grey Eagle to Walter and Edith (Osborn) Clear. After school he served during the Korean War in the US Navy. He had worked at the Erie Mining Company at Hoyt Lakes, MN and also on the ore boats after the service.

Survivors include his children, Rachelle Peterson of Aurora, Sharon Jensen and her husband, Ronald of Embarrass, Barbara Hinsz and her husband, Greg of Aurora, and Clay Clear of Aurora; seven grandchildren and one great grandson; brothers and sisters, Mildred Lekberg of Swanville, Gertrude Wittkop and her husband, Virgil of White Bear Lake, George Clear of Burtrum, and James Clear of Grey Eagle.

Kenton was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brianna; sisters, Frances, Joyce, Dorothy, and Viola; brothers, Harold and Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
