Kathleen H. "Kathy" Oevermann, age 55 of Melrose, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at her home in Melrose.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Monday, May 12 at St. John Vianney Church in Round Prairie. Rev. Frank Kurtz will officiate with interment in St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 pm on Sunday, May 11 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 am on Monday, May 12 at St. John Vianney Church in Round Prairie. Altar and Rosary Society and the Christian Mother's Group will pray at 7:30 p.m.
Kathy H. Oevermann was born November 13, 1947 in Melrose, Minnesota to Alexius "Alex" and Eleanor (Radermacher) Messer. She graduated from the Sauk Centre High School in 1966. She was united in marriage to Joseph G. Oevermann on May 9, 1967 in Sauk Centre. Kathy was employed at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose for 13 years. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, American Life League (ALL), and a former member of St. John Vianney Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Oevermann of Melrose; children, Michael Oevermann of St. Martin, Anne Schroepfer and her husband, Alan of St. Martin, Maria, Judy, and Susanne Oevermann at home; six grandchildren; mother, Eleanor Messer of New Munich; brothers, Gary Messer and his wife, Patty of Sauk Centre, and Kenneth Messer of Sauk Centre.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Alexius "Alex" Messer.
Serving as casket bearers will be Colin Dvorak, Joe Carlson, Patrick Rooney, Nathan Messer, Robert Dvorak and Colin Messer.
