Kathryn Anne was born July 7, 1919 in Krain Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Martin and Annie (Stueve) Schmitz. On May 8, 1945 she married Martin Tschida at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose. Kathryn loved life and lived it to the fullest, keeping busy during the summer months with things she loved to do. You could find her either in the garden tending her vegetables or making sure her flowers were blooming. She was seen most days on board her John Deere tractor cutting her lawn, which she enjoyed the most. During the winter months she would do her crocheting which, when she got started, she could never put it down. Most of her works were given away to friends and family members.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Richard Tschida and his wife, Sharon of Albany, Donald Tschida and his wife, Becky of Brooklyn Park, Mary Douvier and her husband, Robert of Sauk Centre, JoAnn Tschida of St. Cloud; son-in-law, Neil Piechowski of Browns Valley; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Kathryn was met in heaven by her husband, Martin; daughter, Doris Piechowski; her parents; sisters, Eleanor Breth and Helen Rausch; and brothers, Robert and Ted Schmitz.
