Kathleen H. "Kathy" Flood-Bergeson, age 69 of Westport, died peacefully Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at her home in Westport, Minnesota.
Services will be private.
Kathleen Helen Dunham was born December 21, 1945 in New York, New York to Frances and Ruth Dunham Weiss. She grew up in New York and at 18 she married William Flood. She joined the U.S. Air Force and moved around the country. She resided in California, Arizona, and then moved to Minnesota to raise her children. In 1988 she met Scott Bergeson. On June 25, 1988 they were married in the Japanese Garden at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota. They lived in Chaska until 1999 when they moved to Westport.
Kathy was an avid reader who loved life, people, and motorcycles. She enjoyed people and the exchange of stories of their lives and experiences. She loved her husband and had a special place in her heart for each of her children. Her uncle said, "Dorothy (sister) was born with beauty. Kathy was given the gift of gab - gab lasted longer."
Survivors include her husband, Scott Bergeson; five children, James (Danielle) Flood, Elizabeth Flood, Kathleen Flood, Tammy Haugen, and Theresa Riemer; six grandchildren, Michael Carlson, Rebecca Flood, Kendra Golembiski, Bobbi-Jo Whiting-Haugen, Vadia Haugen, and McKayla Riemer; and sister, Dorothy (Richard) Isser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Flood in 1967; and brothers, Theodore and Frank Dunham.
