Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa for Katherine Stueve who died peacefully on February 5 at Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake, MN. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.
Katherine "Kate" Stueve was born on August 30, 1915 to John and Mary (Gruidl) Thell in St. Anthony, Minnesota. On October 11, 1937, she married Norbert "Norb" Stueve in St. Francis. She worked at Anchor Hospital in St. Paul until 1940 while living in the Como Park area. In 1963, she started working at Brown and Bigelow until she retired in 1977. The couple then moved up to their cabin on Big Birch Lake. She lived at the lake for about 5 years after Norb's death on November 11, 1984. From there she moved to an apartment complex in Roseville, Senior Apartments in White Bear Lake, and finally to Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake.Kate loved to watch baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. She was an animal lover, and enjoyed taking long walks. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in White Bear Lake.Katherine Stueve died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake, Minnesota at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 6 days.
Survivors include her son Ronald (Rosmarie) Stueve, daughters JoAnn (Edward) LaKour, Janice Jacobson, Bonnie (John) Logan, and Patti (Reed) Walstad, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert "Norb" Stueve on November 11, 1984.
