June R. Wenker, age 85 of Melrose, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 17 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
June Rose Kramer was born June 8, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota to John and Rose (Weber) Kramer. She attended Business College in Minneapolis and then assisted her parents at the Kramer Variety Store in Melrose. June married Max Wenker on September 6, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. They resided in Freeport for 20 years and returned to Melrose. Upon retirement, they spent 20 years wintering in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and traveling the central United States and Canada. June was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101. She was an avid card player and especially loved playing Bridge.
Survivors include her husband, Max Wenker of Melrose; sons, John Wenker of Minneapolis, Stephen Wenker of Malibu, California, David Wenker of Woodland Hills, California, and M.J. (Paula) Wenker of Hastings; grandchildren, Ben, Allison, and Charles Wenker; and brother, Jack (Jan) Kramer of Thief River Falls.
June was preceded in death by her parents.
