June Marie Hinnenkamp, age 87 of Melrose, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.
June Hinnenkamp was born December 13, 1920 in Villard, Minnesota to Alfred and Katherine (Killeen) Pfeninger. On February 5, 1941 she was united in marriage to John J. Hinnenkamp in Villard, Minnesota. June has been a life long resident of Melrose. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and playing cards, especially Bridge. She was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary, and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include her children, Katherine (Herb) Weber of White Bear Lake, Sandra (Tom) Joseph of Fridley, Patricia (Rick) Sandvik of Edina, and Paul (Debbie) Hinnenkamp of Coon Rapids; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Kathryn Osendorf of Long Beach, California, and Lois Wenner of St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hinnenkamp on February 11, 1985; brothers, Harold and Bob Pfeninger; and sister, Blanche Osendorf.
Serving as casket bearers will be Douglas Weber, Michelle Durrett, Nicole Taylor, Chad and Kyle Joseph, Paige and Erika Sandvik. Cross bearer will be Kelsey Hinnenkamp and scripture bearer will be Amelia Durrett.
