Julitta M. Rachey, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, July 23, 2006 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 31 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5:15 p.m. and Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Julitta Rachey was born December 26, 1917 in Avon, Minnesota to Casper and Anna (Enneking) Wensmann. On September 19, 1938 she married Howard W. Rachey at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple made their home in Sauk Centre, where Julitta was a store clerk at Strauss Clothing for 20 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Sauk Centre Seniors.Julitta enjoyed quilting, crocheting and playing cards.

Survivors include seven children, Shirley (Lee) Marthaler of Brainerd, Jerry (Shirley) Rachey of Sauk Centre, Dick (Irene) Rachey of Robbinsdale, Marilyn (Bob) Baker of Glendale, Arizona, Daryl (Darlene) Rachey of Avon, Mark (Barb) Rachey of Sauk Centre and Brenda (Jeff) Schroeder of Durand, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Monica Frieler and Leona (Joe) Moscho, all of Melrose, Irene (Pat) Donahue of Motley, Rose (Bob) Hempel of Bellavista, Arkansas, Ann (Bill) Stocks of Rio Verde, Arizona, Betty Kampsen of St. Paul and Ed (Caroline) Wensmann of White Bear Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Rachey on April 14, 1994; sister and brothers, Hildegard Rosen, Leander and Ralph Wensmann.

Serving as casket bearers will be her granddaughters, Josie and Kayla Wahl, Shelly Meyer, Charlotte Young, Wendy Hulsebus, Megan Schroeder, Allison Marthaler and Missy Hajnesiewicz. Cross bearer will be Derek Rachey; scripture bearer will be Stacy Stranne; lectors will be Scott Marthaler, Jeff Schroeder and Keith Rachey; gift bearers will be Kelly and Stacy Stranne and Derek Rachey. Honorary bearers will be St. Michael's Nursing Home and Hospice Staff, Marion Conlin, Dora Raduz, Irene Rieland, Esther Botz Prom and Marion Evens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
