Julian J. Orth, age 87 of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church.Julian Orth was born September 25, 1921 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Peter and Mary (Jacobs) Orth. He farmed in Sauk Centre with his parents until 1956. He moved to St. Paul and was employed at Maliboo Iron Works for 12 years. He then worked for three years at Federal Cartridge before working for FMC-Northern Ordinance for 17 years. He retired in 1988 and moved back to Sauk Centre. For the past four years he had resided at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany.

Julian was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He liked to walk, go fishing, enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, and taking a little drive in the country.

Survivors include two sisters, Lucille (Ben) Felling of Maple Grove and Irene (Tony) Felling of Sauk Centre; brother, Roland Orth of Sauk Centre; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one nephew.

Serving as casket bearers will be Elmer and Eymard Orth, Jim Messerich, Jim Jungers, Grant Blaskowski, and Allie Hoeschen. Cross bearer will be Vanelli Felling.
