Joyce Revering

Joyce L. Revering, age 56 of Burtrum, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 23 at her home in Burtrum, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Reverend Mark Willenbring officiating. Interment will be in parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Grey Eagle. Christian Mothers will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the church.

Joyce Lorraine Ahrens was born July 15, 1953 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to Norbert and Caroline (Boeckermann) Ahrens. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in Long Prairie. She was united in marriage to Gary Revering on July 22, 1972 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Joyce worked at the Golden Eagle Supper Club in Burtrum for ten years prior to owning and operating the business for the last 23 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed the outdoors spending time four-wheeling and deer hunting with her husband. Joyce was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Melissa (Mike) Terres of Melrose and Michael (Laura) Revering of Melrose; mother, Caroline Ahrens of Grey Eagle; grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Derek, and Brandon Revering, Jenna and Landon Terres; brothers and sisters, LeRoy (Marque) Ahrens of Grey Eagle, Bob (Geri) Ahrens of Grey Eagle, Joe Ahrens of Carlos, John Ahrens of Grey Eagle, Jane (LeRoy) Schultz of Eagle Bend, and Anna Mae (Paul) Graves of Long Prairie.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Revering on August 7, 2002; and father, Norbert Ahrens.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tim Kircher, Tom Bense, David Borchert, Dale Towle, Kevin Roerick, John Zeis, and John Peschel. Cross bearer will be Lori Dreger and scripture bearer will be Jackie Schultz.
