Josephine F. Haskamp, age 96 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with inurnment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Josephine was born November 30, 1911 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Frances (Macke) Otte. On September 19, 1933 she married Anthony "Tony" Haskamp at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed near Sauk Centre for a few years and then moved to Sauk Centre. She worked at Swift and Company for ten years and then at Dr. Harvey Carlson's Chiropractic Clinic for 18 years. For the past 18 months she had resided at Getty Street Assisted Living.She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, St. Theresa's Mission Group, and Sauk Centre Seniors.
Survivors include two children, Don (Louise) Haskamp of Blaine and Beverly Laing of Pine City; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Rose Bromen and Adeline Silbernick, both of Sauk Centre, Eleanor Rae and Bertie Powell, both of Eugene, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony Haskamp, on January 21, 1984; son, William Haskamp; sisters, Olivia Moser, Rita Hesse, and Marcella "Sally" Marthaler; and brother, Norbert Otte.
Serving as urn bearer will be Steve Haskamp, cross bearer will be Lisa Grund, and scripture bearer will be Stacy Beyer. Gift bearers will be Julie Hart, Lisa Grund, and Stacy Beyer and lectors will be Kevin Laing and Julie Hart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
