Joseph B. Woebkenberg of Grey Eagle, died on Sunday, October 19, 2003 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2003 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday after 3:30 pm and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Chapel in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be at 7 pm followed by Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 pm Thursday.
Joseph B. Woebkenberg was born in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Joseph and Catherine (Wolking) Woebkenberg. He married Shirley A. Hellstrom on November 18, 1961 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. He lived in Grey Eagle all his life where he farmed for many years. He entered Pine Villa Care Center on Jan. 11, 2002. Joey enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards, hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knight of Columbus.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Shirley Woebkenberg of Grey Eagle; sisters, Loretta Schmidt of Grand Rapids, Rita Stuckel, Kaye Klein and Marie Rohling (Bud) of St. Cloud; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Frank and brother, Fred Woebkenberg.
Casket bearers will be Dale Schmidt, Dennis Rohling, Lou Czarnowski, Bill Nieman, Mark Klein, Rich Chernugal. Honorary bearers will be Tom Blais, Dean Schwanke, Lloyd Schwanke, Allen Schmidt, Loren Larson, Mike Klein, Jerry VanDiver and Randy Gustafson. Cross bearer will be Lynette Gustafson. Scripture bearer will be Terri VanDiver. Lectors will be Karen Larson, Mary Chernugal and Renee Herges. Gift bearers will be Roma Czarnowski, Deanna Babb and Brenda Dempsey.
