John M. Hinding, age 82 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 6 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate.
Friends may call one-half hour prior to the service at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.
John Hinding was born on August 29, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Martin and Katherine (Krach) Hinding. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 16, 1945 he married Edna Burchett in Reno, Nevada. The couple resided in Milwaukee, where he was a long time employee of the Milwaukee Journal. Since 1989 they had resided in Sauk Centre.He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, American Legion Post 67 and North American Fishing Club. John loved fishing and playing cards and dice with his friends.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Hinding of Sauk Centre; three daughters, Katherine (John) LaPrest of Pickett, Wisconsin, Susan (Donald) Delis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Barbara Wolf (Kenneth Fisher) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Marion Chmielewski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
