John R. "Jack" Engelmeyer, age 49 of St. Rosa, died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 to 12 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening.
John Roger Engelmeyer was born April 19, 1964 in Melrose, Minnesota to Arthur and Margaret (Finken) Engelmeyer. He graduated from the Melrose High School in 1982 and from Alexandria Technical College in 1983. He began driving truck and was an owner/operator for Goose River Transport of Alexandria. John was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa.
Jack was a jack of all trades; he enjoyed putzing around, snowmobiling, deer hunting and spending time at "The Woods". He especially enjoyed his pride and joy and Goddaughter, Emily, as well as spending time with his sons, Mick and Adam. Jack will have a positive impact on many lives from being an organ donor.
Survivors include his fiancé, Ruth Wiechmann of New Munich; sons, Mick and Adam Engelmeyer of St. Cloud; mother, Marge Engelmeyer of St. Rosa; brothers and sisters, JoAnn (Tom) Imdieke of Minneapolis, Jean (Jim) Hemker of Freeport, Julie (Ross) Voit of Albany, Joe (Kim) Engelmeyer of St. Rosa, Jay Engelmeyer of Breezy Point, Jerry (Julie) Engelmeyer of Merrifield, and Jamie (Amy) Engelmeyer of Freeport; 15 nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and Ruth's children, Amanda, Kyle, and Hanna Wiechmann of New Munich.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Engelmeyer on October 22, 2001.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bob Arnzen, Eric Mader, Mark Klaphake, Mark Pflipsen, Keith Wensmann, Jim King, Derek Engelmeyer, and Tyler Engelmeyer. Cross bearer will be Emily Engelmeyer and scripture bearers will be Joe and Kim Engelmeyer. Readers will be JoAnn Imdieke and Meaghan Hemker. Mass servers will be Luke and Eli Engelmeyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The family will be making a donation to the Down Syndrome Foundation in Jack's honor.
