Joel Ternes

Joel A. Ternes, age 73 of St. Cloud, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held be held Thursday, December 17 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with prayers by Rev. Mike Carlson. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

Joel Alan Ternes was born October 5, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Corrine (Goodmanson) Ternes. After high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic while serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Joel enjoyed country western music, going out for a few drinks, and dancing. You could find him at a restaurant on a Friday night for steak night or at a car show; he especially enjoyed cars from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.

Survivors include his daughter, Joelle (Kyle) Anderson of Osakis; Joelle’s mother, Katharine Jansen of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Logan, Zoey, Harper, Keegan, and Wesley Anderson all at home; sisters and brothers, Laurie (Mark Whitcomb) Ternes, Brian (Sheri) Ternes, Cheryl (Frank Karnauskas) Printon, and Daryl Ternes; nephew and nieces, Dan Ternes, Jackie Milalchick, and Jody Marx.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, John and Corrine Ternes.
