Joel Overman

Joel T. Overman, age 46 of Freeport, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 near Burtrum, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Dan Walz officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Joel Thomas Overman was born January 5, 1972 in Melrose, Minnesota to John "Sonny" and Margaret (Bolster) Overman. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1990. Joel was a big outdoors man. He loved to go fishing and hunting and enjoyed four-wheeling with his buddies. Joel was also a great cook and loved to smoke meats, especially any wild game he hunted. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Overman of Freeport; sister, Jane Saboe of Spicer; brother, Neil (Kelly) Overman of Peculiar, Missouri; nieces, Dana, Amanda, and Katelyn; nephews, Justin, Mathew, and Derrick; great nieces, Nefertari and Sasha; and great-nephew, Tobias.

Joel was preceded in death by his dad, John "Sonny" Overman; brothers, Greg Overman and Mark "Pincher" Overman.
