Joel Gerard Kleinschmidt was born January 11, 1968 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, the youngest child born to Jeanette Veronica (Schurman) and Joseph S. Kleinschmidt. Joel attended Sauk Centre Public Schools and after graduation, he began working at WACOSA in Sauk Centre where he worked for more than 20 years.
Joel enjoyed life to the fullest. Whether he was riding his bicycle, playing his keyboard, or enjoying a farm visit that usually included milking a cow, he was always happy! Joel enjoyed playing basketball and pinball and never refused another game of pool. He loved to swim, spend time in at the lake, and truly was delighted when it was time for another boat ride or taking the paddleboat out on the lake. One of Joel's favorite ways to relax was color pictures; he was always so content to spend hours just coloring. He can also be remembered as the guy who enjoyed eating pizza! Being with his parents, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, and the great nieces and nephews brought him the greatest joy in his life.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Joseph and Jeanette Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre; brothers and sisters, Larry (Audrey) Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre, Ned (JoAnn) Kleinschmidt of Glenwood, Rosemarie (Gary) Marthaler of Sauk Centre, Julie (Dennis) Pfeifer of Safety Harbor, FL, Tim (Mary) Kleinschmidt of Sartell, and Lisa (Darryl) Ilgen of Hector; brother-in-law, Steve (Mary) Klick of Glenwood; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joel is preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Klick and his grandparents.
