JoAnn Teresa Voller passed away peacefully at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota on February 12, 2018.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Angels Church in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Friday, February 16th at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with rosary at 7:00 and one hour before the funeral on Saturday at the church.
JoAnn was born on April 22, 1938 to Albert and Rose (Fink) Radermacher. She was born in Sauk Centre's hospital, at the time named the Long Hospital. JoAnn was named after her grandparents, Joseph and Anna Fink and Teresa Radermacher. JoAnn grew up on a farm near West Union. She was always a proud West Unioniter. Growing up there, her whole universe was St. Alexius Church and District #4 Todd County School. JoAnn began providing the music for church starting in 7th grade through high school. She also played the organ for many, many weddings. In seventh grade, she began junior high in Sauk Centre. Ten days after graduation, JoAnn left for Valley City State Teachers' College in North Dakota. She also attended Moorhead State Teachers' College, returning to Valley City to complete her degree. She eventually taught second grade for three years in Staples, MN.
JoAnn married Fred Voller on June 24, 1961 and started their married life on a farm near Padua. They were blessed with seven children. Their lives centered around their family and St. Anthony of Padua Parish. She and Fred were active in their parish, serving as trustees, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers. JoAnn also taught religion for many years and served as a part-time organist. In 1999, they sold the farm and moved to Sauk Centre. They have enjoyed all these years to have the freedom to travel and to visit their children and attend many events involving their grandchildren. JoAnn absolutely adored her grandchildren. She was also blessed with wonderful friends and cherished these friendships.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Fred Voller; seven children, Mark Voller, Omaha, NE, Julie (Daniel) Long, New Ulm, MN, Kathleen (David) Bernhardt, Great Falls, MT, Ruth Boubin, Owatonna, MN, Sara (Mark) Hagen, St. Joseph MO, Thomas (Cynthia) Voller, Kirkwood, MO, and David (Ann) Voller, Montevideo MN, and 27 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. JoAnn is also survived by sisters, Pat (Rollie)Lackmann, Moorhead, MN, and Kathleen (Glen) Herzog, Fredricksburg, TX; brother, Thomas (Suzanne) Radermacher, Virginia Beach VA; and sister-in-law, Judy Radermacher, Sioux Falls, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Natalie Herzog; brother, Ronald Radermacher; brothers-in-law, Don Peschel, Bill Voller, Don Voller, Butch Voller, and Jim Johnson; two grandsons, David Hagen and Christian Long; son-in-law, Olda Boubin and special godson, David Herzog.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Sauk Centre's Holy Family School or Eagle's Healing Nest "Veteran's Home," in Sauk Centre.
