Joan M. Glowacki, age 84 of Sauk Centre, formerly of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin died peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Private inurnment will be St. Hedwig's Cemetery in Thorp, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Joan Marie Clark was born November 17, 1929 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Eugene and Marie (Dishneau) Clark. She attended St. Norbert's College and then Marquette University where she majored in social work and graduated with honors. She worked in social work in Chicago, Illinois and then as a parole officer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Jerome Glowacki on May 8, 1965 at St. Florian Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They resided in the Madison, Wisconsin area and Joan taught nutrition with the University of Wisconsin Extension Service. She was instrumental in starting the community gardening program in Madison. In 1980 they bought a farm in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin and raised sheep. Since 2011 they had resided in Sauk Centre.

Joan was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie, Wisconsin and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Joan loved folk music, gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband, Jerome "Jerry" Glowacki of Sauk Centre; three children, Michael (Gulnara Seip) Glowacki of Madison, Wisconsin, Nicole (Mark Daniels) Glowacki of Lino Lakes and Elizabeth "Lisa" (Chris) Lawinger of Sauk Centre; three grandchildren, Chase Lawinger, Natalie and Emmett Daniels.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Clark.

Urn bearer will be Michael Glowacki, cross bearer will be Natalie Daniels and scripture bearer will be Chase Lawinger.

Memorials are preferred to Holy Family School in Sauk Centre.
