Jerome A. "Jerry" Wenning, age 78 of Albany, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his home in Albany, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 22 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Bradley Jenniges, O.S.B. officiating. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area.
Jerome Anton Wenning was born July 4, 1936 in Avon Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Alois and Genevieve (Zenzen) Wenning. He farmed on the family farm in Holding Township his entire life. Jerome joined the Minnesota National Guard in 1955 through 1961 and then reenlisted through 1963.
He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Jerome enjoyed going to auction sales and fishing with his friends. He was proud of his collection of farm tractors, John Deere machinery, and his toy tractor collection.
Survivors include his mother, Genevieve Wenning of Albany; brothers and sisters, Marlene (Lloyd) Maus of St. Paul, Arnie (Ellen) Wenning of St. Joseph, Betty (Jerry) Baggenstoss of St. Joseph, Kenny (Linda) Wenning of Albany, David (LuAnn) Wenning of Albany, Diann (Duane) Shabel of St. Cloud, and Allen (Joan) Wenning of Holdingford; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Alois Wenning on April 18, 1980; nephew, Jon Maus; great-nephew, Taylor John Wenning; and great-niece, Lily Klaphake.
Serving as urn bearer will be Joe Baggenstoss. Cross bearer will be Joe Wenning and scripture bearer will be Jason Wenning.
