Jerome Schommer

Jerome J. "Jerry" Schommer, age 91 of Sauk Centre died Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Ken Riedemann officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Jerome John Schommer was born June 26, 1921 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Nickolous and Philamina (Savelkoul) Schommer. Over the years Jerry worked at the Sauk Centre Herald as a type setter, the Sauk Centre Creamery as a butter maker, and for Theede Moving of Sauk Centre moving large buildings and houses.

He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and also repaired bicycles as a hobby.

Survivors include his many cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Ida Lenerz, Catherine Vener, Bertha Schommer, Clare Schommer, and 2 infant sisters; brothers, John Schommer, and his twin, Hieremy Schommer.

Urn bearer will be Lidvina Vener.
