Jerome "Jerry" Schoumaker

Jerome T. “Jerry” Schoumaker, age 85 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Jerome Theodore Schoumaker was born December 4, 1938 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Lawrence and Ida (Zehren) Schoumaker. He graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School and started working as a bricklayer. Jerry was drafted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage to Karen Yell at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Jerry completed schooling to become a Minnesota State Trooper where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, and spending time in his shop. Jerry would always make sure his family was taken care of for the future.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Schoumaker of Sauk Centre; children, Brent (Bridget) Schoumaker of Florida and Kim (John) Schoumaker of Sauk Centre; and step-granddaughter, Jocelyn.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marlene (Bob) Thene.
