Jason D. Kunkel, age 19 of Freeport died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Freeport.
Jason Kunkel was born January 15, 1986 in Roseburg, Oregon to Charles and Teri (Evans) Kunkel. He graduated from Melrose High School in 2005. He was in school plays the last three years of high school and in choir for four years. He also played tennis and was involved in speech. Jason was voted most friendliest and funniest his senior year of high school. He was a giving person who loved a challenged. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport.
Survivors include his parents, Chuck and Teri Kunkel of Freeport; brothers and sister, Louis, Kayla and Heath Kunkel, all at home; grandparents, Gerald Kunkel (long-time companion, Martha Shaker) of Wisconsin, Rose Ann Stoermann (Ray) of St. Rosa and Joseph Evans of Oregon; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandmother, LaVerne Evans on July 29, 2000.
Urn bearers will be his siblings, Louis Kunkel, Kayla Kunkel and Heath Kunkel. Cross bearer will be Bob Stoermann and scripture bearer will be Jim Kunkel. Honorary bearers will be the Class of 2005.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
