Jane Alice Guggemos (Lyman), 92, of Montevideo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
She was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on May 5, 1932, to G. Raymond and Alice Lyman. She married Dean Guggemos on June 1, 1957, and they welcomed four children, eventually making their home in Montevideo. She worked for many years at the Montevideo Clinic and created several lasting friendships there. Outside of work, she enjoyed gardening, canning and baking, watching and cheering on the Twins and the Vikings, visiting the casino and the occasional Brandy. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and never missed the chance to tell anyone and everyone about their accomplishments. She was devoted to the blessed mother and prayed the rosary often.
Jane is survived by her children, Julia Bourne (James Holthaus) of Melrose, MN, David Guggemos (Ashley) of Grand Junction, CO, Karen Black (Joe) of Minnetonka, MN, Tracy Plinske (Darrin) of Brainerd, MN and her grandchildren, Nicholas Bourne, Erin Bourne Northrup (Terry), Benjamin Plinske, Simon Black, Daniel Black, Greta Guggemos and Rachel Guggemos. She is further survived by her sister, Fran Neubauer of Orono, Maine and many friends and relatives. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dean Guggemos, and her sister Kathryn Hackel.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
