James L. "Jimmy Jack" Westermeyer, age 40 of Melrose died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at his home in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Patton- Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Jimmy Westermeyer was born March 22, 1966 in Melrose, Minnesota to Richard and Esther (Terhaar) Westermeyer. He was employed at Jennie-O Turkey Store as a live haul truck driver. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Jimmy enjoyed playing poker, cribbage, watching movies, 4-wheeling, camping, and golfing.
Survivors include his mother, Esther Westermeyer of Melrose; sisters, Jodi Westermeyer and Kim Westermeyer both of Melrose; brother, Ron Westermeyer and his wife, Kate of Maple Grove; and nieces, Erika and Lydia Westermeyer.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Richard Westermeyer; and sister, Kerry Westermeyer.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jason Larson, Mike Revering, Tim Hinnenkamp, Tom Hellermann, Jason Gettel, Art Broermann, Chris Tschida, and Steve Tschida. Cross bearer will be Erika Westermeyer, scripture bearer will be Tony VanBeck, and cribbage board bearer will be Andrew Wendt. Gift bearers will be LeRoy Terhaar and Mary Jane Imdieke. Readers will be Karen Soenneker and Judy VanBeck. Honorary bearers will be Travis Fread, Ron Lingle, Randy Kaelke, Jason Stoermann, Scott Hollermann, Steve Ahrens, Jamie Bertram, and Jennie-O Foods live haul crew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
