James Schei

James D. Schei, age 55 of St. Cloud, died unexpectedly Monday, November 7, 2022 in Orr, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 17 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Pastor Anthony Christoffels officiating. Military honors will be by the Albany American Legion following the service.

Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Melrose.

James Daniel Schei was born October 28, 1967 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Lyle and Katharine (Esterby) Schei. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Gulf War. After the service, he worked at Electrolux in St. Cloud for 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, shopping, hunting, camping, and attending sporting events.

James was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albany.

Survivors include his children, Alyssa (Marcus) Lynn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Justin (Chloe) Schei of Phoenix, Arizona, and Bryan Schei of St. Cloud; granddaughter, Aubriella Lynn; mother of his children, Tracy Walberg of St. Cloud; mother, Katharine Schei of Sartell; and brothers, John Schei of Avon and Peter Schei of Avon.

James was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Schei.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
