James Renneker

James D. "Jim" Renneker, age 55 of Melrose, died unexpectedly from complications of leukemia on Monday, May 1, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 4 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Gabriel Walz officiating. A family inurnment will be held at a later date. Military honors were provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

James Daniel Renneker was born October 1, 1962 in Melrose, Minnesota to Alcuin and Loretta (Dullinger) Renneker. He graduated from Melrose High School and served in the U.S. Army. Jim was an over the road truck driver who was the owner and operator of Renneker Trucking and most recently worked at Farmers Express. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing cards, and antique cars. Jim had a unique sense of humor and when asked how he was doing, his response was always "Gotta go".

Survivors include his mother, Loretta Renneker of Melrose; sisters, Joan (Mike) Gerads of Freeport, Julie (Jerry) Gerads of Melrose, Jean Kidrowski of Willmar, Jeanette (Tom) Gerads of Freeport, Jill (Ray) Kurowski of Long Prairie, Janice Renneker Zarbok (Dave Guse) of Holdingford, and Jodi (Doug) Johnson of Long Prairie; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Alcuin Renneker on April 9, 2018; and an infant sister, Mary Renneker.
