James L. "Jim" Meagher, Jr., age 71, of Grey Eagle died Wednesday, November 8, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 13 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ron Tibbetts officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Grey Eagle.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle.
James Meagher was born March 12, 1935 in Grey Eagle Township, Todd County, Minnesota to James Sr. and Theresa (Denk) Meagher. He was united in marriage to Anna Canfield on November 26, 1955 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle. Jim worked for Preston Snyder and Gebeke Transport in Sauk Centre. He lived most of his life on the farm near Grey Eagle and owned and operated Jim's Construction for 34 years. He enjoyed his family and friends and loved to tell a good joke. He also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, flying, and truly loved his horses. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle.
Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Meagher of Grey Eagle; children, Christy Browen and her husband, Terry of Grey Eagle and Mike Meagher and his wife, Judy of Burtrum; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Cliff Meagher and his wife, Dianne of Burtrum, Margaret Garry of Grey Eagle, Jo Ann Doetkott of Burtrum, Virginia Maciej and her husband, Clarence of Elmdale, Carol Butkowski and her husband, David of Freeport, Sandy Johnson and her husband, Al of Pillsbury, and Janice Larson and her husband, Bob of Burtrum; sister-in-law, Colleen Meagher of Burtrum; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daryl Meagher on July 3, 1969; brothers,
Harvey, Gerald, and Richard.Serving as casket bearers will be Mike Falzone, Daniel Browen, Mark Meagher, Kirk Larson, Jimmy Meagher, and Glendon Becker. Honorary Bearers will be Josiah Browen, Michael "Buck-e" Meagher, and Ronnie Browen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
