Iris Campbell

Iris Ileen Isaacson Campbell, age 93 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 6, 2011 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Iris Ileen Isaacson was born December 23, 1917 in Jolly, Iowa to Gilbert and Alice (Funk) Isaacson. She married Howard Campbell of Swanville on February 6, 1938. They lived in Royalton, where all four of their sons were born. Howard's job, with Standard Oil, brought them to Sauk Centre in 1954. Iris kept up with ties to Royalton, while making many new friends in Sauk Centre.Iris loved life. She found good in everyone she met. Though most of her same age friends preceded her in death, she constantly made new friends because of her love and concern for everyone. She spent many years taking part in Senior Center activities. Iris could have played cards every day.

She enjoyed discussion groups, dominoes, study club, and anything that involved people. She will be missed by many but her spirit will live on in all who loved her.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Sandie) Campbell and granddaughter, Dawn, of Seattle, Washington and Daniel (Shannon) Campbell and grandson, Kevin, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Campbell of Maple Grove; sister-in-law, Evelyn Christle of St. Cloud; special family, Penny and Pat Deters and their four daughters, Allissa, Savannah, Rebecca, and Katrinna of Sauk Centre; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard on March 3, 1984; sons Dean on October 1, 1993 and Dennis on March 1, 2005; parents, Gilbert and Alice Isaacson; and brother, Scott (Phyllis) Isaacson.
