Irene M. Wolbeck, age 56 of Sauk Centre died peacefully Monday, September 20, 2004 at her home from cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. and Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Irene Wolbeck was born January 30, 1948 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Michael and Margaret Lindemann. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Wolbeck on February 5, 1966 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They farmed near West Union from 1966-1996. Irene worked as a cashier at Frozen Foods in Sauk Centre, now called Schaefer's Market from 1988-1990, a seamstress at Custom Bridal Service in Osakis from 1990-1993, residential counselor at Koelln Homes in Sauk Centre from 1993-1997, and a floral designer at Custer Floral & Greenhouse in Long Prairie since 1997. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, former member of St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union and the Christian Mothers. Irene enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting, fishing, walking, and reading.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Wolbeck; children, Lee Wolbeck, Jr. and his wife, Pam of Sauk Centre, Pamela Beckermann and her husband, Paul of Dassel, Brenda Wolbeck of Sauk Centre, Lori Athmann and her husband, Randy of Wadena, and Julie Donat and her husband, Corey of Richmond; ten grandchildren, Bryant and Kaysha Beckermann, Zachary, Mitchell, Adam, Evan, and Ryan Wolbeck, Abby Athmann, Carter and Riley Donat; brothers and sister, Norbert Lindemann and his wife, Dorothy of Sauk Centre, Al Lindemann and his wife, Myrna of Avon, Howard Lindemann and his wife, Janet of Nelson, Vernon Lindemann and his wife, Barb of Chanhassen, and Lorraine Kollman of Sauk Centre; sister-in-law, Marie Lindemann of Sauk Centre; brother-in-law, Jim Armstrong of Hinckley; and 62 nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Margaret Lindemann; brother, Donald Lindemann; sister, Erma Armstrong; brother-in-law, Ron Kollman; nephew, Greg Lindemann; and great niece, Madison Schmiesing.
Serving as casket bearers will be Mark Kollman, Steve Kollman, Josh Wolbeck, Keith Lindemann, Duane Lindemann, Bryant Beckermann, Zachary Wolbeck, and Sam Wolbeck. Serving as cross bearer will be Kaysha Beckermann and Lorraine Kollman will be scripture bearer. Honorary bearers will be close friends and neighbors.
