Irene Ganz

Irene M. Ganz, age 78 of Burtrum died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville with Rev. John Grein officiating. Burial will follow in Moses Dane Cemetery, Burtrum, Minnesota.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Swanville.

Irene Ganz was born on August 8, 1927 in Burtrum, Minnesota to Gerhart and Florence (Halling) Berens. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Ganz in 1970 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Swanville. Irene was a very active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Peter's Ladies Aid and the Ladies Auxiliary. She taught at Sunday school, release time and Vacation Bible School. Irene enjoyed gardening, bowling and cooking for her family.

Survivors include her children; Earl (Jean) Weisbrich of Monticello, Ronald and Duane Weisbrich of Burtrum; 5 grandchildren; sister, Clara (Gerald) Taft of Burtrum; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhart and Florence Berens; husband, Lawrence Ganz; brothers and sister, Leonard, Leroy and Glen Berens, and Bonnie Schaefers.

Serving as casket bearers will be Tony Schinske, Gerald Taft, Ed Berens, Jason Weisbrich, Herman Schaefers, and Kenneth Rahn.
