Ida Eiynck was born in St. Rosa, MN on April 13, 1906, the thirteenth and last child of Henry Eiynck, Sr. and Gertrude (Beyer) Eiynck. She became a priest's housekeeper for Father Joseph Bloch at Rush Lake, MN in 1928, and continued that service at Tintah (1929-47) and Roscoe (1947-1970). After Father Bloch's death in 1970, she became the housekeeper for Father Paul Zylla at Rockville (1970-82) and at Royalton (1982-1996).

In tribute for this service for priests and parishes, she received the Diocesan Medal of Merit from Bishop George Speltz on April 25, 1975. As a special recognition of her Diamond Jubilee as a housekeeper, she received the "Bene Merenti" gold medal from Pope John Paul II, which was presented by Bishop Jerome Hanus, OSB, on June 12, 1988. Her total service to priests and parishes was 68 years, probably a national and world record.

Ida was renowned for her excellent cooking and for her skills in the fine arts of sewing, embroidery, crocheting, and quilting.

Ida attended Mass almost daily for the past 75 years, and she was faithful to her daily rosary. She was generously supportive of New Horizons, Time to Remember, and Living the Promise Campaigns; Opus Dei and the Annual Diocesan Appeal; Bishops Relief Overseas Program, the Holy Father, the Mission Office and the Propagation of the Faith. She established in the Diocese of St. Cloud a permanent scholarship for the education of students for the Priesthood.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; by four brothers: Henry, Jr., Joseph, John, and August; and by eight sisters: Rose Schulte, Hilda Gangl, Mary Butkowski, Katherine Ehlinger, Josephine Chromey, Gertrude Larson, Elizabeth Sakry, and Pauline Engelmeier; and by many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
