Ida K. Chisholm, age 107 of Sauk Centre, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Ida Chisholm was born January 12, 1902 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to John and Mathilda (Ergen) Kiffmeyer. She moved to Padua when she was a young girl while her father owned the General Store. As a young lady, she went to St. Cloud to learn dress making and worked as a cook for a thrashing camp. On November 25, 1924 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Chisholm at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. In addition to caring for her family, she worked as a bookkeeper for K.D.'s Service, a laundress at the Palmer House Hotel, and a housekeeper at St. Michael's Hospital. Ida had resided in Sauk Centre most of her life and spent her last 4 years at St. Michael's Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the Lady Foresters. Ida was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She loved flower and vegetable gardening.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Warner of Sauk Centre, Katherine (Morris) Talberg of Minneapolis, and Elizabeth "Bette" (Thomas Limberis) Chisholm of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth D. Chisholm on December 8, 1955; sons-in-law, Charles Warner and Norman Lindholm; grandson, Paul Lindholm; great-grandson, John Charles Warner Jr.; sisters, Frances, Regina, Bertha, and Edna; and brother, Bernard.

Serving as casket bearers will be David Lindholm, John Lindholm, John Sills, Charlie Theis, Chrissy Theis and John Warner. Cross bearer will be Erin Kohn and scripture bearer will be Patrick Kohn. Honorary casket bearers will be the Christian Mothers and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters.
