Hilda Otte

[b]Hilda A. Otte, age 94 of Sauk Centre, died on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 12 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Steve Hayden officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral in Sauk Centre and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Hilda Otte was born September 24, 1912 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Christina (Discher) Kind. She married Richard Otte, Sr. on June 12, 1937 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. She worked at the Waldorf Cafe in Sauk Centre for many years and as a nurse's aide at the Serepta Home in Sauk Centre for 15 years. Hilda was a homemaker and, with her husband, farmed in Sauk Centre Township and owned and operated Sauk Centre Auction Market from 1959 to 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre and the Ladies Aid. Hilda enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Survivors include her sons, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Jean of Alexandria, Robert and his wife, Lorna of East Sound, WA, and James of Bozeman, MT; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Aurelia Kind of Melrose; nieces and nephews.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Otte, Sr. on November 4, 1991; brothers and sisters, William, Gerhart, and Fred Kind, Selma Kind, Anna Kind, and Mary Hellickson; and daughter-in-law, Jan Otte in March of 2001.

Serving as casket bearers will be Justin, Jeff, David and Bruce Otte, Andrew Hart and David Kind. Honorary bearers will be Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid and Monday Morning Coffee Group.[/b]
