Herman J. Imdieke, age 85, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Pascal Otieno Ounga and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church in Meire Grove.
Herman Imdieke was born April 18, 1921 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Herman H. and Veronica (Schulte) Imdieke. He farmed with his brother Norbert north of Meire Grove until 1978. After Norbert died, Herman retired from farming and continued to live on the family farm. He enjoyed going out to eat and learning about all different kinds of cars. One of his pride and joys was his 1960 Red & White Chevy Impala. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, St. Joseph's Men's Society, and St. John's Catholic Aid.
Survivors include his brother and sisters, Albert "Allie" Imdieke of Meire Grove, Susan Inderrieden of Melrose, and Rose Fladung of Blackduck; and 13 nieces and nephews.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norbert Imdieke; sisters, Dora Marthaler and Sr. Clare Imdieke; sister-in-law, Beatrice Imdieke; and brothers-in-law, Aloys Inderrieden, Sr., Alphonse Marthaler, and Norbert Fladung.
Serving as casket bearers will be Gary Marthaler, Bob Hanauska, Heidi Rademacher, Al Inderrieden, Herb Inderrieden, and Rose Ann Steil. Cross bearer will be Melvin Marthaler. Gift bearers will be Ann Marie Hanauska and Clarine Stalboerger. Mass servers will be Jennifer Stepan and Carla Inderrieden. Lector will be Steve Inderrieden. Eucharistic minister will be Veronica Inderrieden. Honorary bearers will be St. Jospeh's Men's Society and St. John's Catholic Aid.
Memorials are preferred to St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove.
