Henry F. "Hinnie" Van Havermaet, age 81 of Ward Springs, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Mark Willenbring officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to the service in the chapel at the church in Grey Eagle.
Henry Van Havermaet was born October 23, 1925 in Sauk Centre to Henry and Elizabeth (Huhne) Van Havermaet. He married Lucille Skudlarek on May 8, 1957 in St. Wendel. They lived in the Grey Eagle area. Henry was employed by the Ford Garage in Grey Eagle for 4 years and then helped Dick Berscheit in an excavating business for 3 years. He was then employed by Jennie-O Foods as a supervisor until his retirement in April of 1989. Henry was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille "Lucy" Van Havermaet of Ward Springs; children, Lois Eiynck (Dave) of Cottage Grove, Dale Van Havermaet (Marlene) of Ward Springs, Glen Van Havermaet of Backus, Alan Van Havermaet of Ward Springs, Lisa Van Havermaet of Sauk Centre, Kevin Van Havermaet, Paul Van Havermaet (Amanda), and Loren Van Havermaet, all of Ward Springs; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Mary Ann Kiffmeyer of Wells, Margaret Rassmussen of Ward Springs, Betty Schimmel of Grey Eagle, and Frances "Red" Terwey (Roman) of Grey Eagle.
Henry was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Norbert, John, Raymond, and Louis; and sisters, Ann Bruggenthies and Loretta Van Havermaet.
Urn bearer will be Loren Van Havermaet.
