Henry P. Jones, age 95, of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at St. Michael's Nursing Home, Sauk Centre.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. March 16, St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church in Sauk Centre form 10 to 11 a.m.
Henry Jones was born on March 23, 1909 in Winnipeg, Canada to George G. and Grace (Nelson) Jones. On May 23, 1935 he was united in marriage to Irene C. Liebel. They resided in Sauk Centre and he was employed by Northern Pacific Railroad retiring 1967, after 26 years working on the railroad.Henry enjoyed auto repair and restoration, especially restoring his 1930 Model A and 1936 Ford Pickup. He liked to play pool and enjoyed gardening. Henry was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
Survivors include his children, Henry D. Jones (Ernestine) of Trego, MT, David Jones (Susan) of Coon Rapids, Jeannine Halvorson (Duane) of Hugo, George Jones of Eden Prairie, Walter Jones of Fridley, Kathleen Abraham (Eugene) of Villard, Elouise Jones of Minneapolis, Clifford Jones (Vicki) of Savage; sister, Norma Olson of Cokato; 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George G. and Grace Jones; wife, Irene C. Jones on July 2, 2003; daughter, Jeanette Jones; brothers and sisters, George Jones, Allen Bervin, Harold Jones, Oswald Jones, Kenneth Jones, Annie Remior, Marion Jackson, Grace Jensen, Eunice Mickley, and Orma Gillette; and 1 grandson.
Serving as casket bearers will be Larry, Dennis, Erik, William and Robert Jones and Trevor Halverson. Cross bearer will be Christopher Abraham.
