Henry Ebben

Henry M. Ebben, age 83, of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with his niece at his side at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Sudhansu Kumar, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Henry Mathias Ebben was born April 26, 1935 in Sauk Centre to Henry Sr. and Julia (Muellner) Ebben. He attended Saint Paul's Catholic School which later was named Holy Family School in Sauk Centre. He graduated with a diploma from the 8th grade in 1950. Starting at the age of eight, Henry was an Altar Server during Latin Masses at St. Paul's Catholic Church for nine years. As a young boy, Henry had a paper route. Later, he worked at a nursery laying sod, did cement work for a few years, and helped 27 local farmers with chores. He also worked at the bowling alley setting pins. For 22 years, he made his home with Goldie and Kenny Miland and became a part of their family. In 1986, he began working for OTC in the Grain Beer Building in Willmar doing piece work while mowing lawns for people. Henry also worked at WACOSA in Sauk Centre. He retired in June of 2009. During his retirement, he enjoyed eating downtown at the Ding Dong, Subway, and Hardees. He enjoyed going to Casey's to get a pop, visiting the staff at the Sauk Centre Herald, and doing word find puzzles. Henry enjoyed sending Christmas, Easter and birthday cards to many.

He will be deeply missed by his niece, Jenelle Trushenski and great-niece, Jennifer Trushenski; and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Neidhart; and brothers, Leander, Wilfred, and Joseph Ebben.
