Henry J. Duclos, age 85, of Freeport, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with military honors provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Goldenaires Senior Citizens will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5 p.m. and St. Joseph's Men's Society at 8 p.m.
Henry was born October 6, 1921 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minn. to John and Katherine (Hoffman) Duclos. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Madeline Luethmers on October 30, 1943 in St. Anthony, Minn. He owned and operated Freeport Trucking until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Twins fan. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport, St. Joseph's Men's Society, and a former fireman.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Duclos of Freeport; children, Joyce (John) Eveslage of Freeport, Judy Duclos (friend, Roger Meemken) of Sauk Rapids, Jeff (Deb) Duclos of Melrose, June (Dave) Domine of Clear Lake, and Joel (Twyla) Duclos of Robbinsdale; 14 grandchildren, Kirk (Amy) Eveslage, Sam and Scott Eveslage, Mike (Sherry) Eveslage, Steve (Sarah) Eveslage, Vicki (Dan) Fitzgerald, Jacob, Kristina, Josh, Katelyn, and Jonah Duclos, Courtney and Cam Domine, and Madeline Duclos; 5 great-grandchildren, Tucker, Brody, Jack and Grant Eveslage, and Lily Domine; sisters and brothers, Marie Zwilling of Avon, Larry (Marie) Duclos of Minneapolis, Ed (Lavern) Duclos of Big Birch Lake, Leona (Charles) Wiehoff of St. Cloud, and Hubert (Donna) Duclos of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine Duclos; brothers and sisters, Barb Thelen (John), Tony Duclos (Eileen), Sr. Gudelia Duclos, Joe Duclos (Edna), John Duclos (Alice), Bill Duclos (Regina), Al Duclos (Lorraine); brother-in-law, Joe Zwilling; and grandson, Jack Eveslage.
Casket bearers will be Kirk Eveslage, Mike Eveslage, Steve Eveslage, Jacob Duclos, Josh Duclos, and Cam Domine. Cross bearer will be Jonah Duclos and scripture bearer will be Katelyn Duclos. Honorary bearers will be Norb Renneker, Mike Renneker, Don Kerfeld, Harry Kerfeld, Glen Kerfeld, Marv Denne, Jack Bohnen, Ed Hennen, Tom Hiltner, and Gothard Rademacher.
