Helen M. Niehoff, age 81, of Osakis, died on Monday, September 1, 2003 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2003 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday, September 3, 2003 from 3:30 pm to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. United Auxiliaries will pray at 7 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen Niehoff was born on November 22, 1921 in Lake George Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Edward and Katherine (Wengler) Braun. She married Raymond Niehoff on June 27, 1944 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre. She was employed by J.C. Penney for 12 years and by Red Owl as a produce manager for 14 years. She also was a foster grandmother at Holy Family School for 11 years. Helen was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853, and the American Legion Post 67 Auxiliaries.

She is survived by her 4 children, James Niehoff (Paula) of Evelyth, Bruce Niehoff (Ruth) of Osakis, Marsha DeVine (Mark) of Breckenridge, and Brian Niehoff (Marie) of Osakis; brothers and sisters, Ralph Braun (MaryAnn) of Sauk Centre, Marie Mackedanz (Jerry) of Elk River, Valeria Luethmer (Henry) of Sauk Centre, Duane Braun (Lois) of Alexandria, Joan Moening (Bill) of Blaine, Ronald Braun (Jan) of New Hope, Linus Braun (Carol) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on November 9, 1981; brother and sisters, Virgil, Rita Anglim, and Evelyn Braun.

Casket bearers will be Ralph Braun, Jerry Mackedanz, Henry Luetmer, Duane Braun, Richard Braun, Bill Moening, Ronald Braun, and Linus Braun. Cross bearer will be Caleb DeVine and scripture bearer will be Lindsay Niehoff. Honorary bearers will be Foster Grandparents and the VFW & Legion Auxiliaries.
